Players earn points by being the first to correctly determine how to manipulate the four numbers on the card using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and/or division to reach the number 24. The cards come in three difficulty levels, with easy cards worth 1 point, medium cards worth 2 points, and hard cards worth 3 points. There are also "puzzle sleeves" that introduce the concept of variables by hiding one number and making it "wild."
