* The siege game evolved from or alongside Fox and Geese and first appeared in Germany around 1803. Players defend a fortress with two pieces, while the attacker commands twenty-four pieces to capture all nine fortress points. The attacker can only move vertically or diagonally, while defenders can move in any direction and capture attackers by jumping over them.
