Players start with two ships already at sea, and there is no capital city for initial actions. Colonists can be built later in the game and may move between the islands. The game features a fish market that serves as an extra layer of strategy, allowing players to trade fish for goods, cash, or special actions, enhancing the gameplay experience. Additionally, the ITALIA map is included for those who missed it with their purchase of Concordia Venus.
