Hapsburg Eclipse: The Great War in Eastern Europe 1914-1916*
Leviloff's Habsburg Eclipse is a solitaire game set during the siege states of World War I in Eastern Europe from 1914 to 1918. Players control the leadership of the Austro-Hungarian Empire while also managing the increasingly assertive German High Command. The game presents unique challenges as players strive to survive the Russian onslaught and conquer the Serbs, all while dealing with the diverse nationalities within the empire and external pressures.
As the war progresses poorly for Austria-Hungary, with significant Russian advances and little success against the Serbs, German control grows in exchange for their assistance. Ultimately, players face the collapse of the empire as defeat looms. There is also a sister game titled Ottoman Sunset, allowing for a combined gameplay experience if both games are owned.
