Kansas Pacific*

Kansas Pacific is a tactical train game designed by David V. H. Peters, featuring no element of luck. Players bid on shares to operate one of six railway lines starting from the eastern edge of Kansas, earning revenues by traversing various cities, with Wichita and Topeka offering significant income. An added incentive drives players to expand their rail lines westward into a "Land Grant" area, where they can gain extra track dice and bonuses for reaching the Colorado border. The player with the most cash at the end of the game wins.
