The eighth installment takes place in a fantasy setting where Nemetor, a presumed-dead dark sorcerer, raises an army of the undead. The kingdoms are in peril, relying on the Stormblade, a powerful sword hidden in the fortress of the Scholars. As players navigate this intrigue, they must uncover the truth behind a murder and the potential traitor among the council members.

There are eight mandatory roles in the game, divided equally between male and female characters, along with an optional role that can be either gender. These roles include typical fantasy archetypes like an elf, barbarian, merchant, knight, priestess, mage, amazon, and dwarf.
