La Trel*

Players use pieces called Defender, Sabre, Trident, and Warrior in this unique blend of chess and checkers. Warriors move in any direction, Sabres move cardinally like rooks, and Tridents move diagonally like bishops. Defenders block and confuse the opponent without attacking. Pieces are captured by jumping over them, with special rules for corner captures and swapping pieces.
