Mein Knopf, ein Universum: Das Spiel is a short dice game from HABA for children aged 3 and up, based on the children's book My Button, a Universe.

What's it about?

Tilli and her friends set off on a magical trip through the universe. Along the star path, children collect wish buttons and land on special spaces. Some offer a shortcut and others a reward. A few invite you to share with the other players. The source book is by Carmen Kroll, known as CARMUSHKA, and Kristin Dittmann designed the game.

How it plays

1. Roll the die and move along the star path.
2. Collect wish buttons and use the special spaces.
3. The game ends as soon as one child reaches the Land of Dreams.
4. Bonus buttons are handed out there, then everyone counts up.

The most buttons wins, so the first child home isn't automatically the winner.

Who is it for?

It suits two to four children from age 3 and takes 10 to 15 minutes, which fits a small child's attention span nicely. Fans of the book will recognise the characters, but you don't need to know it to play.

Conclusion

This is a gentle introduction to rolling and counting for the very youngest, with a sweet theme. Older children will outgrow it fast, because there are no real decisions to make.
