No Peace Without Spain!: The War of the Spanish Succession 1702-1713*

In November 1700, King Charles II of Spain died without an heir, igniting a long-standing feud between the Bourbons and the Habsburgs as both sides laid claim to the throne. Players represent either the French claimant, Philip V, or the Austrian claimant, Charles III, in this two-player game, which simulates the War of Spanish Succession using a point-to-point map and a deck of 55 cards. The game highlights the significance of fortresses, and players earn or lose victory points, ultimately determining the winner after the final round in 1713.
