Omega Centauri*

Two millennia ago, a loose federation of planets united to form a Galactic Empire that expanded ruthlessly, enslaving or banishing all races that posed a threat. Recently, the Empire has faced uprisings from conquered peoples, and in the barren outskirts of the galaxy, the exiled races are gathering their strength to attack.

Players build their galactic empires in a game for 2 to 4 participants using sector tiles, with most of the game board initially depicting resource sectors controlled by the Empire. During each turn, players can execute one of five possible actions—assemble, build, move, politic, or research—allowing for a blend of strategic planning and tactical gameplay. In the base game, players will alternate choosing and executing actions until all have completed three, whereas the expanded version introduces enhanced technologies and requires players to select their actions in advance, deepening the complexity and competitive strategy.
