Players assume the role of lords at the court of King Henry VIII, positioning their courtiers among influential nobles to gain actions that can elevate their family members to high offices and earn prestige. They take turns placing courtiers in three unique audience chambers and then position their lords, allowing certain actions to be executed based on courtier placement.

Gameplay involves using chamber actions to collect court cards and move courtiers on throne room spaces that represent various faction interests. The game features scenario cards that introduce special rules and scoring cards to vary gameplay, providing a strategic experience with high replay value.
