Zen Garden*

The life of an emperor is demanding and filled with tough choices. He needs a comforting space to relax and recuperate, and a beautiful garden with pathways, statues, and flora is exactly what he requires. Players act as architects creating the most magnificent garden for the emperor, paying attention to his preferences while trying to stay ahead of the competition.

The game involves selecting tiles, paying their costs, and placing them in the garden next to already placed tiles. The board is refilled, and a new first player begins the next turn. Five preference boards are included, which alter the scoring features of the garden, significantly changing the objectives players pursue in each game.
