On June 28, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife were assassinated in Sarajevo. This event triggered Austria-Hungary to issue an ultimatum to Serbia, and following its rejection, Austria-Hungary declared war, leading to the outbreak of World War I.

The game simulates the conflict of World War I on a strategic level, focusing on key battles fought by Germany in 1914. Players command the two factions and can alter the course of the war while navigating rules designed for both casual and advanced play, with components made from wood and a colorful game board.
