Beast^*

Beast is an asymmetric hidden-movement game from Studio Midhall: one player is the Beast, roaming unseen through forests, swamps and caverns, while the others hunt it as specialised hunters. For 2 to 4 players aged 14 and up, 60 to 120 minutes.

How it plays

The Beast moves secretly via direction cards; the hunters uncover trails where it has been but never know whether the track is still warm. Every action – move, search, attack – is paid for with cards from your hand, which you draft at the start of each round. Meanwhile the Beast builds strength for attacks on settlers, and the hunters get only one search per round. Whoever deals enough damage first wins.

Who is it for?

Groups who enjoy Scotland Yard or Letters from Whitechapel and want a modern, tactically denser hunt with outstanding artwork. Multiple beasts and hunters keep it fresh for a long time.
