Catan Geographies: North Rhine – Westphalia*
The edition of Catan - North Rhine-Westphalia is part of a series of historical regional map expansions for the classic Catan line. It features the area of North Rhine-Westphalia, known for its industrial region along the Rhine, including the city of Essen, famous for its gaming fair.
The rules closely follow standard Catan with a few exceptions. Players can only build cities at intersections representing real towns, and certain distance rules do not apply in some cases. Victory points can also be earned by building the first road to a "victory point crossing," indicated by tokens placed on the board.
