Der Regenbogenfisch: Glitzerbingo*

Der Regenbogenfisch: Glitzerbingo (Rainbow Fish Glitter Bingo) from HABA is a collecting game for 2 to 4 children aged 3 and up. Each child builds their own Rainbow Fish and fills it with colourful scales. Fans of Marcus Pfister's picture book will recognise the message: sharing pays off.

What is it about?

Children draw scales from a fabric bag and look for the symbols their fish still needs. If a scale doesn't fit, they can gift it to another fish that needs it. As a thank-you, they get a glittering scale for their own fish.

How it plays

  1. Lay out your Rainbow Fish.
  2. Draw a scale from the bag.
  3. If it fits, place it on your fish.
  4. If not, gift it and take a glitter scale.

What kids practise

  • recognising and matching symbols
  • taking turns
  • helping others and sharing

Conclusion

Glitter Bingo pairs a very simple bingo with the warm idea from the book. Little ones stay engaged because giving away a scale also earns them something. Games last about 15 minutes. Older siblings from around six will find it too easy quickly.
