France '40*
France '40 consists of two separate games - Sickle Cut and Dynamo, each with its own full-size game board but sharing many game pieces and rules.
In Sickle Cut, players experience the critical week in May 1940 when the German army breaks through the French line at the Meuse River. Dynamo focuses on the British retreat to Dunkirk and their evacuation, highlighting the urgency of reaching the coast before the advancing German forces.
The gameplay emphasizes armor, air support, and morale, featuring special rules for Allied heavy tanks, notable historical figures, and events. Players can connect the two maps to explore the entire timeframe from May 13 to June 3, although no combined scenario is available.
Components include two paper maps, counters, a rulebook, player aid cards, and two six-sided dice.
