The Best BoardGameGeek Golden Geek Award games 2026

BoardGameGeek (often abbreviated to BGG) is an online forum for board game hobbyists and a game database that contains reviews, images and videos for over 100,000 different board games.

Since 2006 an own award

The BoardGameGeek "Golden Geek Award" has been announced every year around March since 2006. Golden Geek winners are determined by nominations and votes from the user community of the BoardGameGeek.com website.

Evaluation via "Schulze Method"

A special feature in the evaluation of the votes is the evaluation according to the Schulze Method: a game that scores well with many will win over a game that scores very well with a few. This method can be used not only to determine a single winner, but also to assign a rank to each game.
