The best Love Letter variants⎇ 2026
There are now quite a few interpretations of the Love Letter game principle. In this list we have picked out the best "Love Letter" variants⎇ 2026.
Why the hype about Love Letter?
Love Letter is a umpteen award-winning card game designed by Seiji Kanai. The card game was first released in May 2012.
Easy to learn: Only 16 cards
The standard version of Love Letter has only 16 cards, but enormous fun to play. It cleverly incorporates extremely many elements (e.g. deduction, eliminating-players, party-game) into an easy-to-learn party game. After just a few minutes, even newcomers have an extreme amount of fun with the game and can play it for hours at a stretch. Nevertheless, even board game experts keep taking Love Letter out of the closet even after weeks of playing.
Objective of Love Letter & the Love Letter variants
In Love Letter, each player has the goal of delivering a love letter to the princess with the help of various helpers. In the many Love Letter variants, this basic principle is the same – it is just merged with other worlds (for example, in Lovecraft Letter the world of H.P. Lovecraft). In the Love Letter variants, the cards depict different things (e.g., in The Hobbit – Battle of the Five Armies), the princess is the "The Arkenstone") – and each card has different abilities (in Lovecraft Letter, this goes as far as each card having two abilities).
In Infinity Gauntlet from the Marvel-universe, the gameplay is even adjusted a bit and each round plays one against the rest (all against Thanos).
