The best Werewolf/Mafia games and variants 🐺 2026
The werewolf games are usually set in a small village that is haunted by werewolves🐺. There are now hundreds of werewolf or werewolf games.
How do the werewolf games work?
Each player is secretly assigned a role – werewolf, villager or seer (a special villager). There is also a moderator who controls the flow of the game.
The game alternates between night and day phases. At night, the werewolves secretly choose a villager to kill. Also, the seer (if alive) asks if another player is a werewolf or not. During the day, the killed villager is revealed and is out of the game. The remaining villagers then vote on the player they suspect is a werewolf. That player reveals his role and is eliminated from the game.
Who wins in the werewolf game?
Werewolves win if there are an equal number of villagers and werewolves. Villagers win when they have killed all the werewolves. Werewolf is a social game that requires no equipment and can accommodate almost any large group of players.
Various werewolf variants have been released
There are several versions of Werewolf, each of which includes unique characters, voting rules, and additional variants. Many newly edited versions are also available. This game is also known as Mafia.
Additionally, there are some games that incorporate werewolf mechanics into their gameplay – for example, Secret Hitler or the The Resistance Series.
