The race to space was a façade. The moon landing wasn't faked; it truly happened. However, the lie is that we ever wanted to go to the moon—we needed a spectacle to justify our immense budgets.

In Godspeed, players act as scientists from one of five nations: the USA, Japan, the Soviet Union, European nations, or India. The game unfolds over ten rounds, featuring phases for negotiation, auctions, worker placement, and resource production. Points are earned through various avenues, including prestige tracks, milestones, and leftover resources, with the nation having the most points winning the game.
