Greenville 1989 is a cooperative narrative game where each player embodies a character who has experienced supernatural events. Players must describe these events to their teammates, who then need to locate and save the character. The role changes each round, ensuring everyone has a chance to be either lost or found, as failure to be found risks drawing the group closer to the void threatening to engulf the town.
