Karuta*
A traditional Japanese game involves revealing a card from a draw pile, and players attempt to find its matching pair among the cards laid out on the table. In Uta-garuta, the first three lines of a Tanka poem are written on the draw pile cards, while the last two lines are on the laid-out cards, forming the pairs. Another version, Iroha/Garuta, is often played by children for educational purposes, pairing one card with a kana and another card featuring a poem or proverb starting with the same kana.
