Labyrinth: Chronicles*

Labyrinth: Chronicles turns Ravensburger’s classic into a cooperative campaign game with a 3D board. It plays two to four people aged 8 and up.

What is it about?

The Labyrinth is a magical place full of wonders, with walls and corridors that keep shifting. Its dark corners hide real treasure. You gather resources there to help a nearby faefolk village, while grasping goblins try to snatch the loot before you. It was made together with Awaken Realms, and a game takes 20 to 60 minutes.

What is new compared to the original?

  • Cooperative instead of competitive
  • A campaign in which you rebuild the village step by step
  • A three-dimensional board
  • New skills and friends you unlock as you progress

How a round works

  1. Shift the corridors to change the maze.
  2. Move your heroes along the new paths.
  3. Collect resources and keep the goblins in check.

The familiar sliding of corridors remains the heart of the game.

Who is it for?

Families who grew up with the original Labyrinth and now want to play together rather than against each other. Kids from 8 can keep up fine.

Conclusion

Labyrinth: Chronicles is an ambitious project and costs far more than the original. In return you get a campaign, lavish components and co-op play. If you love the classic and want more story, you will be happy. If you just want quick games, stick with the original.
