Lügen ohne Limit*
Lügen ohne Limit ("Lies Without Limit") is a German quiz and party game for 3 to 15 players aged 14 and up that blends general knowledge with bluffing. Players outbid each other on how many answers they can name to a question, until someone calls a bluff and the boaster has to deliver.
What's it about?
Each round starts with a question card following the pattern "How many … can you name?", such as countries in Asia, influencers or savanna animals. The box holds 150 of these cards. Knowledge matters, but honest self-assessment and reading the other players matter even more.
How it plays
Each round follows the same pattern:
- Reveal a question card.
- The first player writes their claim on the bidding board.
- Going around the table, each player decides: if they believe the claim, they must enter a higher number.
- As soon as someone no longer believes the previous claim, they issue a challenge.
- The challenged player must name the announced number of correct answers before the sand timer runs out.
If they succeed, they score the points of their bid. If they fail, the points go to the challenger. The first player to reach 300 points wins.
Who is it for?
- Game nights and parties with large groups of up to 15 people
- Groups who like trivia but want more interaction than plain question-and-answer
- Anyone who enjoys bluffing others into overbidding
A game takes 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the group.
Conclusion
Lügen ohne Limit turns a classic trivia question into a bidding duel. Because you are betting on how much you trust yourself rather than on right or wrong, even trivia skeptics stay in the game. If you want a loud, social party game for big groups, this is a fresh twist. Note that the game is German-language only. If you prefer quiet puzzling, a classic quiz suits you better.
