Mundus Novus*
Spain, 16th century. Players are powerful ship owners seeking wealth from the newly discovered New World. The goal is to charter fleets of caravels to collect valuable goods, including legendary Inca relics, and trade to build the best sets that expand their business empire and increase their wealth.
The game uses two decks of cards: a resource deck representing ten different resources and a development deck granting special advantages. Each round consists of four phases, starting with an event phase, followed by a supply phase where players draw resource cards, a trading phase led by a trading master, and a progression phase where resources are exchanged for doubloons and developments. Victory is achieved by forming a set of ten different cards or accumulating 75 doubloons. If no victor emerges by the end of the development deck, the player with the most doubloons wins.
