Next Station: Berlin*

Next Station: Berlin is a flip-and-write game in which you design the best metro network in Germany's capital. Quick to learn, quick to play.

Designed by Matthew Dunstan and published in German by Pegasus Spiele, it plays 1 to 4 people aged 8 and up in about 25 minutes.

What's it about?

Everyone draws colored lines on their own map of Berlin. You start from two set stations on opposite sides of the city. The aim is a network that links both starting points, spreads across many districts and creates valuable interchange stations.

How it plays

  1. A Station card is revealed.
  2. Everyone extends their current line to a matching symbol at the same time.
  3. After several cards the round ends and a new color begins.
  4. After four rounds, you score.

The rules are strict: lines may not cross, form loops or retrace a segment.

New in the Berlin edition

  • Railway switches: Special cards let your network branch off.
  • National Train Stations: Key hubs can be marked and open up new tactical goals.
  • Connection goal: Your two starting stations should be linked by the end.

Who is it for?

If you enjoy Next Station: London, you will find familiar rules with fresh twists. Since everyone draws at once, there is hardly any waiting. Solo, it works as a puzzle against your own best score.

Conclusion

A quick, accessible network builder with a clear Berlin flavor. Great for families and fans of the series. If you want lots of interaction between players, there is not much here.
