Players take on new roles each round to hire characters that help them acquire gold and build structures. The game ends when a player builds their eighth building, at which point points are tallied to determine the winner.

Players start with building cards of five colors, each providing different advantages based on the characters played. Actions in each round are executed in order, with characters performing unique abilities such as eliminating others or stealing gold. Additionally, a set of action cards adds strategic depth, allowing players to perform special actions during the game.
