Board games have long been a hobby

The self-confessed poker fan got deeper into the world of board games mainly through Cosmic Encounter and various role-playing games - he was, for example, one of the first French Dungeons & Dragons players.

He is also involved in the board game community with his "Ideal Games Library" website and his personal "Game of the Year" award. Many of his games are the result of collaborations with other designers.

Collaborations with other designers - Faidutti at the center of the game world

Faidutti has collaborated with many different game designers. In 2006, American game critic Shannon Applecline took this as an opportunity to investigate. Following the mind games "Erdős number" and "Bacon number" she made some calculations.

In these evaluations, a value is assigned to a person by counting the number of collaborations with different people. The two numbers thus tell how far a person is from collaborating directly on a scientific article with mathematician Paul Erdős or a film with Kevin Bacon.

Applecline's research showed that Faidutti is highly significant in the world of games - Faidutti is virtually at the center of the gaming world.
