Klaus-Jürgen Wrede has been designing dice, card & board games since 2001. The game designer hails from Meschede, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland🇩🇪, was born in 1963 and currently lives in Arnsberg, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland 🇩🇪.

Wrede's first game Carcassonne (he invented Scippo in 1992, but it was not published due to the bankruptcy of game publisher Hexagames) was developed in 2001 at the age of 38 - so he has been designing games for more than ${year-1992} years. Famous Wrede games are for example Carcassonne, The Downfall of Pompeji & Mesopotamia.

Inspired by classic games & other authors

As a child he played games like Monopoly and Chess. Later he played games like Kremlin, Civilization, Age of Renaissance, Tikal, Ra und Tigris and Euphrates. His favorite game authors include Wolfgang Kramer, Reiner Knizia, Alan R. Moon, Klaus Teuber, Uwe Rosenberg and Karl-Heinz Schmiel.
