Who is Sid Sackson anyway?

Sid Sackson (1920 – 2002) was an American world famous board game designer and collector. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA🇺🇸 in 1920 and died in New York City, USA🇺🇸 in 2002.

Sackson's first game "Poke (2-player poker variant)" he developed in 1946 at the age of 26 – so he has been designing games for over 56 years. Famous Sackson games include Acquire, Can't Stop & I'm the Boss!.

Sackson is best known as the creator of the business game Acquire. Several of his games reached sales figures in the millions.

In love with games

Sackson was not only a game inventor (he started as an 8-year-old), he was also a game reviewer, a columnist in "Strategy & Tactics" game magazine, and a book author of well-received books about games and their rules. Furthermore, he was also a passionate game collector. At the time of his death, his archive was estimated at over 18,000 titles. After his death, however, the collection was sold at various auctions and thus fragmented.
