Seasons of Rice*

Seasons of Rice is a card game of just 18 cards, Corry Damey's tribute to his Cambodian heritage: you puzzle paddy cards together so that enclosed rice fields with houses, farmers and buffaloes emerge. For 2 players aged 8 and up, about 20 minutes.

How it plays

A game has two seasons. In the Wet Season you simultaneously pick two cards from your hand: one goes straight into your landscape, the other into a shared row for the Dry Season. Then you swap hands. In the Dry Season you alternately take cards from that row. Points come from paddies fully enclosed by paths, worth more with houses, family members and buffaloes inside – and your personal ancestor spirit rewards one speciality of its own.

Who is it for?

Couples and travellers looking for a clever two-player tile-laying game in wallet format. Minimal components, maximum decision density.
