Secret Museum*

Secret Museum is a collecting and tile-laying game by Matthias Cramer and Werner Schmitt: buy rare artifacts, spot the fakes and stage an exhibition. For 2 to 4 players aged 10 and up.

What's it about?

Far from prying eyes, a covert society meets in the Secret Museum. Members present, appraise and ruthlessly compare their rare artifacts. You grow your collection to impress the others. The best reputation at the end wins.

How it plays

  1. Buy coveted pieces on the Black Market.
  2. Catalogue and examine them closely, as more and more fakes are turning up.
  3. Store exhibits cleverly in your Warehouse to earn bonuses.
  4. Move only your finest pieces into your Collection.

During the game you can also put together your own exhibition from the pieces in your Warehouse.

At a glance

  • Designers: Matthias Cramer, Werner Schmitt (Schmidt Spiele)
  • 2 to 4 players
  • 30 to 45 minutes, ages 10+
  • Mechanisms: open drafting, tile placement, set collection, chaining

Who is it for?

Families with older kids and casual groups who enjoy collecting and combining. The black market and forgery theme adds a touch of adventure.

Conclusion

Secret Museum mixes collecting, placement and a little risk into a compact weeknight game. If you want a heavy strategy game, it won't fully satisfy you.
