Abstract
A family of games designed for a single player, these puzzles challenge players to remove pieces from a grid. Typically, all but one space on the board is filled, and players jump one piece over another into an empty space, removing the jumped piece from the board. The goal is to have only one piece remaining. The two most common boards are the English cross with 33 pieces and the French octagon with 37 pieces.
