Test of Fire: Bull Run 1861*

On July 21, 1861, the untested armies of the North and South clash in the first battle of the American Civil War. Players can assume the role of either General Beauregard defending Virginia for the Confederacy or Union General Irvin McDowell trying to stop the Southern rebellion and reunite the nation.

This game commemorates the centenary of the first land battle of the American Civil War and is the first in a series designed by Martin Wallace and published by Mayfair Games. Victory for the Union requires capturing Manassas Junction or defeating the Southern forces, while the Confederates win by outmaneuvering the Union army or seizing strategic locations.
