Combat Commander: Pacific*
Combat Commander: Pacific is a card-driven wargame about tactical infantry combat in the Pacific Theater of World War II, built for exactly two players.
What is it about?
You lead squads and teams across the map and fight for ground. The game adds three new factions to the Combat Commander series: Imperial Japan, the Pacific US with a strong Marine focus, and the Pacific Commonwealth with Indian and ANZAC forces.
Everything runs on Fate Cards. They hand out orders, actions and events. Chance and friction are baked in and often wreck your tidy plan.
How it plays
- Play a Fate Card as an order.
- Move and fire with your units.
- Trigger events and die-roll effects.
What's in the box
- Twelve maps with Pacific Theater terrain
- Hundreds of counters for units and weapons
- Fate Cards that drive the whole game
Who is it for?
This is aimed at seasoned wargamers. It stands alone, so you need no other Combat Commander. A game runs long, so set aside the time.
Conclusion
An acclaimed classic full of tension and chaos. Tactics fans and history buffs adore it. Newcomers and fans of short games will balk at the scope.
