Conquest & Consequence*

Conquest & Consequence is a three-sided strategy game about the Pacific war from 1936 to 1945: three players fight over Asia with diplomacy, economy and battle.

What is it about?

The game brings the praised Triumph & Tragedy system to the Pacific and East Asia. Three powers struggle for control: militarist Japan, the communist Soviet faction, and the capitalist USA alliance with the British Empire. Japan starts strong but is poor in resources.

How it plays

  1. Plan your economy and research in secret.
  2. Move blocks across land and sea.
  3. Forge alliances or betray your rivals.
  4. Score points through conquest, trade and industry.

Japan's open roads

  • The push south into a weak China
  • The northern road into resource-rich Siberia
  • The southern road to the oil-rich Dutch East Indies

Who is it for?

For exactly three players aged 12 and up with plenty of time. A game runs four to six hours. The weight of 3.9 asks for seasoned strategists.

Conclusion

If you love negotiation, bluff and grand history, you get a dense experience. If you want short evenings, look elsewhere.
