Conquest & Consequence*
Conquest & Consequence is a three-sided strategy game about the Pacific war from 1936 to 1945: three players fight over Asia with diplomacy, economy and battle.
What is it about?
The game brings the praised Triumph & Tragedy system to the Pacific and East Asia. Three powers struggle for control: militarist Japan, the communist Soviet faction, and the capitalist USA alliance with the British Empire. Japan starts strong but is poor in resources.
How it plays
- Plan your economy and research in secret.
- Move blocks across land and sea.
- Forge alliances or betray your rivals.
- Score points through conquest, trade and industry.
Japan's open roads
- The push south into a weak China
- The northern road into resource-rich Siberia
- The southern road to the oil-rich Dutch East Indies
Who is it for?
For exactly three players aged 12 and up with plenty of time. A game runs four to six hours. The weight of 3.9 asks for seasoned strategists.
Conclusion
If you love negotiation, bluff and grand history, you get a dense experience. If you want short evenings, look elsewhere.
