Dominion*
In Dominion, you step into the shoes of a monarch, much like your ancestors, ruling over a small, picturesque kingdom. However, your ambitions stretch far beyond the peaceful realm you've inherited. Your goal is to expand your territory, transforming these modest lands into a vast dominion filled with diverse landscapes and resources.
Competing for Territory
However, you're not the only one with such lofty aspirations. Other monarchs share your vision, each striving to claim the uncontrolled lands that surround you. To outpace your rivals, you'll need to hire minions, construct buildings, beautify your castle, and fill your treasury.
Deck Building and Strategy
Dominion stands out with its innovative deck-building mechanic. Each player starts with a basic deck of cards. Throughout the game, players use these cards to acquire more powerful cards from a central pool, gradually constructing their deck. The challenge lies in choosing the right cards to purchase and efficiently playing your hand to gain victory points.
Game Composition and Replayability
Unlike collectible card games (CCGs), Dominion offers a fixed set of 500 cards, including 25 different types of Kingdom cards. Each game, players select 10 of these Kingdom card types to include, ensuring a high level of variety and replayability in every session.
Conclusion
Part of the wider Dominion series, the game is known for its immense variety, strategic depth, and the unique challenge of building an efficient deck to claim victory. It's a game that appeals to both fans of traditional card games and those looking for a unique, competitive experience.
