Flip 7: With A Vengeance*

Flip 7: With A Vengeance is the meaner standalone follow-up to the push-your-luck card game Flip 7. Built for 3 or more players who enjoy risk and messing with friends.

What's it about?

The core idea from Flip 7 is unchanged. You flip number cards and pray you never see the same number twice. This time the deck runs from 0 to 13, with thirteen copies of the 13. New action cards and negative modifiers mean no lead is ever safe, and the friendly Second Chance card is gone.

Eric Olsen and Alyssa Swatek designed it, and The Op Games publishes it. A game takes about 20 minutes. You don't need the original, since the box is complete on its own.

How a round works

  1. Everyone gets one card to start the round.
  2. On your turn, choose to take another card or stay.
  3. Draw a number you already have and you bust, scoring nothing.
  4. Stay in time and you score the sum of your numbers.
  5. Collect seven different numbers and the round ends at once, with a 15 point bonus for you.

What's new

  • Action cards let you steal, swap, discard or force someone to flip four cards in a row.
  • Negative modifiers knock points off a score or cut it in half.
  • The Zero drops your total to zero unless you still hit Flip 7.
  • Lucky 13 lets you hold two 13s safely; a third one busts you.

Who is it for?

It suits families, big party tables and anyone who found the original a bit too polite. The more people join, the louder it gets.

Conclusion

Flip 7: With A Vengeance lives up to its name. The rules still take a minute to teach, yet every round swings harder. Fans of luck and gleeful revenge will love it. Players who want control and calm should stick with the original.
