Heartbeats*

Heartbeats is a music party game for 2 to 6 players aged 16+: match hits to life moments and guess which song your friends picked.

What's it about?

A game takes about 30 minutes, and you need a phone with the KOSMOS Explainer app and Spotify. Designer Julien Gupta brings together big hits and personal stories. Instead of quizzing you on titles and artists, it asks which memories each player ties to which song. That sparks plenty of conversation and more than a few laughs.

How a round works

  1. Two songs are scanned via QR code in the app and played through Spotify.
  2. The team picks an intriguing situation.
  3. The active player secretly decides which of the two songs suits them better in that moment.
  4. Everyone else guesses, laughs and debates the choice.
  5. Scoring is done together.

At the end, a personal hit list brings surprises and bonus points.

Who is it for?

  • Girls' nights, parties and evenings that are allowed to run late
  • Groups who know each other well or want to get to know each other better
  • Music lovers who prefer stories to trivia

Conclusion

Heartbeats is more of a conversation starter than a contest, and that is its charm. If you love talking about music and memories, you are in for a fun night. It does not work without Spotify and a smartphone, though, and anyone expecting a classic music quiz may be surprised.
