Hollywood 1947*

Hollywood 1947 is a social deduction game for up to 9 players. You make films in Hollywood, but communists secretly slip messages into them.

What's it about?

The year is 1947. Each player is secretly a Patriot, Communist, or Rising Star. You must expose the communists before your studio gets shut down.

How it plays

Each round, every player takes a unique job, such as Director, Screenwriter, or Editor. These jobs decide which cards go into the film.

  1. Perform your job, or re-roll two dice instead.
  2. Players showing stars add a card to the movie.
  3. Reveal the cards and check which team leads.

The team with the most symbols wins the round. The first team to win four rounds wins the game.

Highlights

  • The fifth game in the Dark Cities series by Facade Games.
  • A handsome, book-shaped box.
  • Fast to learn, often after just a few minutes.

Conclusion

A moody bluffing game for big groups that enjoy lying. If you prefer firm rules and little debate, look elsewhere.
