Maybe. Not. Perfect!*

Maybe. Not. Perfect! is a cooperative word and association game for 2 to 6 players aged 8 and up. One clue fits one profession perfectly, a second a little, and a third not at all. A game takes 15 to 20 minutes.

What is it about?

What do a barista, an astronaut and a fisherman have in common? That is what you are trying to work out. One player gives a clue that relates to each of the three professions in a different way.

How a clue works

  • Perfect: fits really well
  • Maybe: fits a little
  • Not: doesn't fit at all

Take the word water. A fisherman? Perfect, they are surrounded by it. A barista? Sure, they use water, but it is not the main thing. An astronaut? Probably not much water up there.

How a round works

  1. Three professions are laid out face up.
  2. One player comes up with a clue.
  3. The others sort the professions into Perfect, Maybe and Not.
  4. Every correct match moves the team forward.

The goal is to match as many clues as possible together. The debates over whether something is still a Maybe or already a Not are half the fun.

Who is it for?

Families, party groups and fans of games like Just One. It works with two, but really opens up with a bigger group.

Conclusion

Maybe. Not. Perfect! is a clever, quick communication game where nobody loses. The three-step scale makes it trickier than it looks. If you prefer head-to-head competition, you won't find much friction here.
