My Father's Work*
My Father's Work is a narrative strategy game for two to four mad scientists who experiment across three generations.
What is it about?
You inherit a page from your father's journal and a large estate. There you run devious experiments. You score by finishing experiments, aiding the town, and upgrading your macabre estate. The big goal: complete your father's masterwork.
How it plays
- Choose between study and active experiment.
- Place your workers with care.
- Gather knowledge and resources.
- At the end of each generation, almost everything is lost.
Only the willed knowledge passes to the next child. So you build up over three generations. An app feeds the game with events and text.
Who is it for?
This suits groups who love long, dense story nights. A game stretches to about three hours. It plays best with three. The weight runs high.
- A book that acts as the board
- Miniatures and player boards
- An app for events and text
