Puerto Rico is a strategy game where players become colonial governors in Puerto Rico, aiming to earn victory points through trade and construction.
Gameplay
- Each player has their own board for buildings, plantations, and resources.
- Shared resources include ships, a trading house, and doubloons.
- Grow crops, exchange them for points or doubloons, and use doubloons to build and expand.
- Role cards determine actions each round, with the privilege going to the player who chose the role.
- The "governor" token rotates clockwise, and each governor starts the round by choosing a role.
Scoring
- Victory points are earned from buildings, shipping goods, and large buildings.
- Shipping tokens hide exact scores, adding strategic depth.
- Expansion sets add new buildings and nobles, enhancing gameplay.
Puerto Rico offers deep strategy in a colonial setting, with hidden scoring adding to the excitement.
