Shout the Clue*

Shout the Clue is a cooperative real-time party game from Pegasus: everyone shouts hints at once while one player decodes the words. For 3 to 6 players aged 8 and up.

What's it about?

Each round, one player is the Decoder and tries to guess as many secret words as possible before time runs out. Everyone else is an Informant, shouting clues at the same time. Each Informant follows their own constraint on how they may communicate. Keeping calm in the noise matters as much as clever wordplay.

How a round works

  1. The Decoder reveals a word card to the Informants without looking, then flips the timer.
  2. Informants call out clues at once, each sticking to their constraint.
  3. The Decoder can guess as often as they like. A correct guess reveals the next card.
  4. Tough words can be passed and revisited if time allows.

When the timer runs out, each unguessed word moves the Fiasco token closer to the bomb.

Winning and losing

  • Roles rotate after each round, and constraint tiles get passed on.
  • You win if everyone has been Decoder once before the token hits the bomb.
  • If it reaches the bomb first, you all lose together.

Conclusion

Shout the Clue is loud, chaotic and done in about 15 minutes. For party groups and families who enjoy a racket, it's a hit. If you prefer quiet word games, the shouting won't be for you. Designed by Valéry Fourcade.
