Soldiers in Postmen's Uniforms*
Soldiers in Postmen's Uniforms is a solitaire wargame for a single player ages 10 and up. Across 60 to 75 minutes you defend the Polish Post Office in Danzig on the first day of the Second World War against the German assault.
What's it about?
On 1 September 1939, German forces moved to seize Polish installations in the Free City of Danzig. The staff of Post Office No. 1 held out for a full day and surrendered only after the building was set ablaze. That historical stand is the heart of the game: civilian defenders against a materially superior force.
How it plays
As the defender you direct the postal workers through action points and dice rolls:
- Position your handful of men at windows and strongpoints
- Beat back wave after wave of attackers
- Manage scarce resources, because no reinforcements are coming
It plays much like a tower-defense scenario, carried by its sober historical subject.
Who it's for
Solo strategists and history buffs who value a focused, atmospheric single-player wargame.
Conclusion
A tense, strongly themed solo game about an uneven fight. It is not light fare, but anyone willing to engage with its serious subject will find a haunting slice of history.
