Deception: Murder in Hong Kong*
Deception: Murder in Hong Kong offers a riveting game of deduction and deception designed for 4-12 players, providing an immersive experience in approximately 20 minutes.
In this thrilling investigation, players assume the roles of investigators seeking to solve a murder case, but here's the twist – the killer is one of the investigators! Roles and teams are randomly assigned, including the unique characters of Forensic Scientist, Witness, Investigator, Murderer, and Accomplice. It's a battle of wits where deduction clashes with deception!
Roles
-
Forensic Scientist (x1): As the game master, the Forensic Scientist holds the solution to the crime. They assist investigators in identifying the "Key Evidence" and "Means of Murder." The Forensic Scientist cannot hint at the solution through words, gestures, or eyes.
-
Murderer (x1): The Murderer selects one Clue card and one Means card as the solution to the crime. Their objective is to hide their role, find a scapegoat, and win the game if no one correctly identifies both the "Key Evidence" and the "Means of Murder."
-
Investigators (x8): Tasked with solving the crime, investigators analyze hints provided by the Forensic Scientist. Identifying both the "Key Evidence" and "Means of Murder" leads to the arrest of the Murderer and victory for the Investigators and Forensic Scientist. The challenge is intensified by the fact that the Murderer (and sometimes Accomplice) is among the Investigators.
-
Accomplice (x1): An optional role for games with six or more players, the Accomplice knows the Murderer and the solution to the crime. Both the Accomplice and Murderer win if the crime goes unsolved.
-
Witness (x1): Another optional role for games with six or more players, the Witness observes culprits leaving the crime scene. Unaware of the Murderer and Accomplice's identities, the Witness risks being "killed" if the Murderer is arrested and identifies them.
