The best variants⎇ of the "Anno Domini" game series 2025
Are you looking for a really good Anno Domini variant? We have picked out the best ones and put them together in an overview.
How does Anno Domini work?
In Anno Domini, each player receives a certain number of cards. On the front of each card is an event - on the back is the date on which the event took place. Now each player in turn places a card in the center of the table and arranges them in the correct chronological order. As soon as the following player doubts the correctness, a check is made to see who is right. The player in the wrong is punished by taking cards. The first player to discard all cards wins.
Anno Domini can be played with 3 to 8 players.
Originally, each card set from the normal series contained 336 cards - since 2009, each set contains 340.
How many Anno Domini variants are there?
The quiz & sorting game Anno Domini has been around since 1998. Since then, until 2025, more than 30 major Anno Domini variants have been published - plus a handful of mini-versions each with around 100 cards, as well as major variants through partnerships with other publishers (Stadt Brugg, Fußballmagaton Zwölf, Unilever).
In total, more than 10,000 events have thus appeared in the various Anno Domini variants.
