Pandemic Legacy: Season 1*
Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 offers an extraordinary gaming experience as a cooperative campaign game, immersing players in an overarching story-arc that unfolds over 12-24 gripping sessions. The duration depends on your group's performance and the fate of the world. Here's an overview of this thrilling journey:
Gameplay Overview
-
The Pandemic Universe: The game begins reminiscent of the classic Pandemic, where your team of skilled disease fighters embarks on a mission to combat global outbreaks, racing against the relentless clock. Your objective: travel the world, treat disease hotspots, and diligently research cures for four menacing plagues threatening humanity.
-
Player Turns: Each player's turn consists of four available actions, offering a wide range of possibilities. Actions include global travel using various means (sometimes requiring card discards), constructing vital research stations, disease treatment (removing cubes from the board; complete removal leads to disease eradication), card trading with teammates, and the pivotal task of discovering a cure (requiring five cards of the same color to be discarded while at a research station). Each player possesses a unique role with special abilities, contributing to the team's efforts.
-
Card Draw: After taking actions, players draw two cards. These cards may contain epidemic cards, ominous threats that introduce new disease cubes to the board, potentially triggering outbreaks and elevating the panic level of affected cities, making travel costlier.
-
Monthly Objectives: The game unfolds in months, with two opportunities to achieve monthly objectives. Success allows you to proceed to the next month, while failure grants a second chance, along with additional funding for beneficial event cards.
-
Evolutionary Campaign: As the campaign progresses, you'll encounter new rules and components. Some of these elements will necessitate permanent alterations to the game components, such as writing on cards, tearing them up, and applying permanent stickers to game elements. Characters can acquire new skills or suffer detrimental effects, and in some cases, a character may be lost permanently, rendering them unavailable for future play.
Conclusion
Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 promises an immersive and suspenseful journey through an evolving storyline. The fate of the world rests in your hands as you tackle disease outbreaks, adapt to changing rules, and make tough decisions that permanently shape the game. Can your team overcome the challenges and mysteries that lie ahead? Enter the Pandemic universe and embark on this unforgettable cooperative adventure.
