The expansion introduces bird species into the ecosystem, allowing players to swoop down on unsuspecting prey, evade predators, or ascend to new locations when food is scarce. Players can now choose to create either a normal or a flying species, each with unique costs and benefits, such as special abilities that only apply to flying creatures. This expansion dramatically shifts tactics and strategies while maintaining the core mechanics of the base game, making it easy to learn.
